


Just like above, the easiest way to tune down the high E string is to check it against the low D string or the open D string. The quickest way to get the B string to an A is by checking it against the open A string (the second thickest string). You can use a tuner or match the pitch of my guitar in the video lesson to get an F#. In open D tuning, your G string is tuned one half-step down to an F#. The A and D strings remain the same for both regular and open D tunings, so don’t worry about changing them. But for now, use the open D to tune the low E string down to a low D (if none of this makes sense, check out this drop D tuning lesson!).
